Ruud van Nistelrooy, Manchester United’s interim head coach, was fired Monday.
Casemiro posted an emotional parting letter on Instagram in response to his departure.
He wrote: “Always thankful. Legend.
The Dutchman praised Casemiro as a “example” following his outstanding performance against Leicester City in the Carabao Cup, and the two had a strong bond.
The Brazil international’s dismal performance in the 3-0 loss to Liverpool in September drew harsh criticism.
He was rightfully removed from the starting lineup due to his errors. But he has made a significant improvement in his recent form.
He has been employed more skillfully by Van Nistelrooy, who has paired him alongside Manuel Ugarte to showcase his abilities.
The veteran’s self-assurance and midfield authority have returned.
Casemiro’s legs are no longer strong enough to cover wide areas defensively at age 32. He found it difficult to defend in wide regions under Erik ten Hag’s method.
However, he has demonstrated leadership and found greater stability under Van Nistelrooy.
Casemiro now appears to be a reliable performer for United. His difficulties under Ten Hag stand in sharp contrast to this.
Notably, he hinted at a breakdown in their connection by failing to write a parting note to Ten Hag following his dismissal last month.
In 2022, Casemiro paid £70 million to join United from Real Madrid.
In his first season under Ten Hag, he was instrumental in leading the squad to Carabao Cup glory.
Supporters of the Red Devils will be hoping that Casemiro can build a solid rapport between him and Ruben Amorim, who has replaced Van Nistelrooy as manager.
After the international break, Amorim may start Casemiro and Ugarte in midfield against Ipswich Town in the Premier League since Kobbie Mainoo is still doubtful due to an injury.
