On an easyJet aircraft to Lisbon, Bruno Fernandes, the captain of Manchester United, saved the life of a stranded traveler, earning him another assist.
On Monday, the Portuguese football player and teammate Diogo Dalot were flying from Manchester to Lisbon when he saw a man who looked like he was fainting in the back of the aircraft.
Fernandes yelled for help in a panic: “Pardon me! We require assistance! I’m sorry! We require assistance!
“During the flight, Bruno used the restroom at the rear of the aircraft,” Susanna Lawson, a passenger, told Business Cloud.
Since we were at the back, everyone within hearing distance turned to look behind us when we heard a sharp cry for help.
Crew members hurried to the rear to assist. Bruno assisted the man in sitting down on a spare seat in the back.
He made sure he was alright by staying with them in the back.
He returned to his seat after what must have been five to ten minutes, but he was once more quite unassuming. He didn’t want to draw attention to himself.
According to reports, Fernandes and Dalot have been keeping a low profile throughout the trip as they get ready to play for Portugal against Poland on Friday.
However, he has received a lot of acclaim for acting quickly to assist his injured fellow traveler.
Lawson, who was flying with a group to Web Summit, a conference where Manchester United CEO Omar Berrada would speak on Tuesday, continued, “When I politely asked him for a selfie as we were leaving the plane, he was absolutely lovely and actually took the selfie himself.”
I gave him credit for tending to the sick traveler. To be honest, you would have assumed he was just another traveler if you didn’t know who he was.
Fernandes has had an extremely busy week, with his 250th Manchester United appearance on Sunday and his recognition at the Quinas De Ouro awards on Monday.
