‘LIGHT will guide you home’: Man Utd stars finally could be treated well, aligning with their 100% potential under Ruben Amorim’s era – he comes and fixes all ten Hag’s mistakes

Since joining Manchester United, Ruben Amorim has made all the right sounds, and even if his skill on the field hasn’t been put to the test yet, he has already begun fixing Erik ten Hag’s errors.

Ruben Amorim visits Old Trafford on November 13, 2024 in Manchester, England.

It goes without saying that a manager who has been fired did something that didn’t work or appeal to the club’s stakeholders.

It was evident that Erik ten Hag’s tactical arrangement was being revealed too frequently, and he was having trouble properly interacting with the supporters.

His method of switching to self-defense mode with statements that demanded believing, however, was what annoyed me the most toward the end.

His usual platitudes about winning two titles, getting hurt this season, or urging patience because the club was young were all empty rhetoric.

Ruben Amorim immediately got to work correcting Ten Hag’s grave error.

Erik ten Hag’s major error was corrected by Ruben Amorim.

The larger error is something else, but Amorim previously promised United supporters an identity from the very first game, which Ten Hag was unable to give after two years.

In the next three quotes, it will be evident since the words will speak for themselves.

The first quotation is: “The young players must better themselves, and we must help them do so. So, patience. We need to assemble a group of people who can consistently succeed.

“We had to sign players, but we decided to sign very young players, like Rasmus Hojlund last year, like Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro this year,” is the second comment. We have to develop these guys because we believe in them both now and in the future.

Third quote: “But since we are a young team, I don’t want to say that we need time.” They’re ready. The pressures of playing for Manchester United are something they are ready to handle. Since they are here, they ought to be. We will attempt to win time with the games because we are aware that it will take time. However, we must begin right away, fearlessly, and without considering that they are not accustomed to playing in this manner.

The third comment is from Ruben Amorim’s first interview as Manchester United manager, while the first two are quotations from Ten Hag from September and October. The point is conveyed, and the contrast is evident.

The “IT” component belongs to Ruben Amorim.

Ignoring more serious issues is one thing, but it is quite another for the players to miss opportunities, which results in poor outcomes and puts more pressure on the manager.

Ten Hag found himself in that predicament near the end of his tenure at the club, even though the manager had a role to play and the team was clearly far superior than it was displaying.

Unbeknownst to him, it was becoming more and more obvious that Ten Hag lacked the charisma necessary to inspire the club to support him.

In the 10% of games at the highest level of football where the manager can make a difference by positioning the side to win in a one-off match, tactics come into play.

The players they have at their disposal are typically far superior to the opponent; in these situations, it just comes down to keeping them content and allowing them to perform at their best.

That calls for charisma, man management, and the force of personality that Amorim seems to possess in the first exchanges.

For now, he appears to have the key component Ten Hag was lacking, but the real test will come with the games and the scrutiny at Old Trafford, which is unlike any other club in England, so that’s worth monitoring.
