Forget Gyokeres and Sesko – Mikel Arteta’s Perfect Striker Solution Lies Within Arsenal’s Ranks!

Alexander Isak, a Newcastle talisman, is the ideal fit for the Gunners as they need to add a significant player up front.

Alexander Isak seems to be as calm when asked about his future at Newcastle as he is when he is in front of the net.

During the international break, the Sweden striker was asked if he might be departing St. James’ Park next summer, with Arsenal being suggested as his most likely destination.

Reports that contract negotiations are stagnating have further fueled the flames, but Isak isn’t letting that deter him.

He told Fotbollskanalen in Sweden, “I have never really commented on or talked about the move rumors during the season in my career.”

It has been discussed in numerous years of this kind. I am unaffected by it. I’m talking about my circumstances in Newcastle, and I’ve never had any issues there.

“I am really committed to my work there, and I think this season will be amazing. Great prospects still exist for that. There’s nothing else on my mind.

“All I can say is that rumors and a lot of information are frequently released. A lot of what I’ve read is untrue. So that’s about all I have to say about it.

It is easy to understand Arsenal’s interest in Isak. He has four goals in nine Premier League games this season, and only Erling Haaland and Cole Palmer scored more goals in the previous campaign.

Next summer, Arsenal plans to strengthen its forward line, and they have been connected to several forwards, such as Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting and Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig.Like Isak, both players have strong goalscoring records and would surely increase the Gunners’ offensive output.

The fact that Isak has Premier League experience, on the other hand, is an advantage that Arsenal has favored in their most recent transfer window.

Isak is a seasoned Premier League player who provides Arsenal with significant versatility.

The additions of Declan Rice, Jorginho, and Leandro Trossard all suggest this, and Isak would be included in the same group.

He also benefits from his versatility. Arsenal needs more depth in the middle and out wide in attack, as evidenced by their performance this season.

In addition to playing as a traditional No. 9, Isak can also play out left. In that regard, it is simple to understand how he could occasionally partner with Kai Havertz, Arsenal’s favored striker, rather than taking his place in the starting lineup.

Since the beginning of the year, Havertz has done well for Arsenal as a No. 9, but he needs more competition. The German has been under more pressure because of Gabriel Jesus’ form and injury issues.

Isak would provide Mikel Arteta’s team with competition and an alternative style of play. With his link play, Havertz has served as the attack’s focal point, drawing more players into the fray.

Despite his height of 6 feet 4 inches, Isak is not a target man; rather, he would pose the most threat by approaching from behind. Right now, Arsenal has something out wide with players like Gabriel Martinelli, but not in the middle.EXCLUSIVE: Arsenal's number one striker target revealed as Alexander Isak - now.arsenal

Another element working in Isak’s favor is Martin Odegaard. When Odegaard was on loan from Real Madrid for the 2019–20 season, the two played together at Real Sociedad.

They performed well together, forming an effective understanding, and the chance of a reunion at Arsenal is an exciting prospect. The Gunners have watched Isak since his days at Sociedad and were heavily linked with a move for him in January 2022.

Newcastle signed Isak the following summer and the challenge for Arsenal now would be convincing them to sell. Eddie Howe has repeatedly stressed how the club have no plans to let the 25-year-old go and that he is a key part of their plans going forward. Only time will tell if that resolve fades.
