Christian Eriksen, a player for Manchester United, had a rough game against Serbia in the Nations League on Monday night.
The Danish player started on the right side of the center. He had a hard time controlling the game against Serbia on the road.
Eriksen was only 72 percent accurate when it came to throwing. He only caught two of the six long balls and one of the six passes he tried.
The 32-year-old lost the ball 17 times and was passed three times. Going forward, the Dane wasn’t very useful.
His play probably won’t help his chances of starting for United under new boss Ruben Amorim.
The Portuguese will play with either a 3-4-3 or 3-4-2-1 system.
When he plays, he likes to work with midfielders who can press hard and never stop working. Manuel Ugarte is the right person for him.
Bruno Fernandes should be able to start right away. After coming back from injuries, Kobbie Mainoo and Mason Mount could fight with Casemiro for the other midfield spot.
The above five people can move around more easily than Eriksen. Going forward, he might only be able to play small parts.
He has helped set up seven goals for Manchester United this season, but none of them have been in the Premier League.
His current deal ends at the end of June 2019, and there are no plans to extend it. People “expect” him to leave the club.
United play Ipswich Town on the road in their first Premier League game back after the international break.
Monday was Amorim’s first day leading a training lesson. The team he picks for his first game at Portman Road might surprise us.
