Perhaps the best player in Turkey was Güler.
In their final UEFA Nations League group encounter, Turkey suffered a surprising 3-1 defeat to Montenegro, in which Arda Güler played 90 minutes.
They came in second place in their group as a result of the loss, as Iceland was defeated by Wales.
Güler, who began as a central attacking midfielder in a rotating squad, had a strong game and was Turkey’s most inventive player.
Güler had numerous attempts on goal, but only one was able to put the goalie to the test; the other four missed.
Throughout the game, the Real Madrid player won six of seven duels, demonstrating his continued diligence. He had 76 touches at the end of the game, which was second only to Orkun Kökçü’s 78.
Güler completed 49 of his 54 passes (91%), including three crucial ones, as he continued to provide his teammates with attractive deliveries. In addition, he completed seven of his eight long ball attempts and two of his five crosses.
Given the condition of the field he played on against Montenegro, it is a comfort that Güler will now be able to return to Madrid without any injury concerns.
