adidas and the Association of South American Football (AFA) have released a limited-edition uniform to commemorate the 50th anniversary of their collaboration in 1974. On November 20, the new uniform will be used against Peru.
The Argentina national team was first sponsored by adidas fifty years ago. With just a few brief gaps, this long-lasting collaboration has lasted for fifty years and is rich in history, having contributed to two of the team’s three World Cup triumphs.
The 1974 Argentina uniform, with its classic vertical stripes of blue and white, served as the inspiration for the retro style of this one. The classic trefoil and AFA crest from the middle of the 1970s, which represent the team’s accomplishments throughout the years, are emblazoned in gold on the breast for extra nostalgia.
