TIMBER DAY: Jurrien Timber travels to Rwanda to inspire the community as Arsenal Ambassador

Jurrien Timber’s trip to Rwanda began this Thursday, December 14, 2023.

The Arsenal player got to Rwanda early Thursday morning and was meant to start his three-day trip with a visit to a building site.

Rwanda is a great place to visit. Jurrien Timber is a great company to work with.

“I love being in Rwanda.” I really enjoy being here. It looks like everyone is happy, and people are loving each other. Timber told the kids playing football on a playground near Kigali Pele Stadium, “I’ve heard a lot of good things about Rwanda, and so far my experience has lived up to those hopes.”

On Timber’s first day in Rwanda, he went to the massacre Memorial Center to honor the people who died in the 1994 massacre against the Tutsi.

It is very important to know about Rwanda’s past and what happened here. “I’m thankful that things are calm in the country right now,” he said.

Young football players asked the 22-year-old about himself, and he told them a bit about himself.

Timber thanked the people of Rwanda for their unwavering support of Arsenal and gave praise to the “Visit Rwanda” program.

He said, “I’ve seen a lot of Arsenal shirts on the streets. People here really support Arsenal.”

Because Visit Rwanda is the first Sleeve Sponsor and Official Tourism Partner of Arsenal FC, Timber’s trip is part of their work with the team.

The first place he went on his tour of the facilities was the Peace Stadium, which can hold 40,000 people but is currently being fixed up so that it can only hold 25,000.

The defender then went to see the AS Kigali youth team, which is made up of kids younger than twenty.

He went to see them while they were working out and training on the field at the Kigali Pele Stadium, which used to be called Tapis Rouge in Nyamirambo.

Jurrien Timber, who is 22 years old, also went to Gisozi’s Kigali Genocide Memorial.

After learning about the past of the country and how it was built, Timber bowed to the innocent people buried at the Kigali Genocide Memorial.

As he showed Timber parts of the Kigali Memorial, he talked about how the Genocide Plot came to be and how it was carried out. It shows how, after its troubled past, Rwanda has brought its people back together.
