The present FC Barcelona team is playing very well overall this season, but the Blaugranes think they still need to improve in some areas going forward.
One of these areas is the flanks, where the Catalans want to improve their competition by making the fullback spots stronger.
On the left wing, Alphonso Davies has recently been linked with Barcelona. His deal with Bayern Munich ends at the end of the season, and the Bavarians have not yet agreed to extend it.
But the Canadian back is also wanted by other teams, like Real Madrid, so it looks like it will be hard for Barcelona to get him for now.
SPORT says that the Blaugranes are interested in Dutch youngster Devyne Rensch to help out on the right flank. Rensch’s deal with Ajax ends at the end of the season, and the Blaugranes want to sign him.
The 21-year-old has come a long way in the last few years. His speed, ability to control the ball, and offensive game have been especially amazing. He’s also on the Netherlands U-21 team. Barcelona has been keeping an eye on him for a few months now, but they haven’t made up their minds about him yet.
Still, there’s no question that he will be a good addition to Barcelona’s team because he will add to the players they already have on the right wing and costs very little.
But several Premier League teams, such as Liverpool and Tottenham, have also been keeping an eye on him, and Ajax has also made him an offer to stay with the team.
Also, he’s not the only player Barcelona is interested in for this spot; the Blaugranes are still keeping an eye on Marc Pubill, who they were linked with during the summer transfer window.
Jules Kounde is Barcelona’s starting right back right now, and Hector Fort, who comes in as a replacement, isn’t doing much for the team. We still don’t know if Barcelona will make a move for the Dutch right back.
