RAMPANT Arsenal beat Sporting Lisbon badly in the Champions League and even made fun of their star scorer Viktor Gyokeres by copying his celebration.
The Gunners had one of their best European away days in recent memory, scoring three goals in the first 45 minutes in Lisbon. Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, and Gabriel all scored goals.

Bukayo Saka grabbed yet another goal and an assist
Defending player Gabriel from Brazil scored the third goal with a header right before halftime, putting Sporting on their knees. Gyokeres then did his famous “mask” act.
It shows how confident and cocky this Arsenal team is now that they are fully healthy and no longer dealing with injuries. They put on a show that should make their opponents in this competition take notice.
Mikel Arteta’s team rallied with a vicious penalty from Bukayo Saka in the 65th minute and a late goal from Leandro Trossard, despite Sporting’s goal from Goncalo Inacio in the 47th minute putting them back on track.
Gyokeres has piqued the interest of the North Londoners on multiple occasions. With 24 goals in 17 appearances for Sporting this season, he was one of the continent’s most dangerous goal scorers going into this match.
Earlier this month, when manager Ruben Amorim was in charge, the team defeated Manchester City 4-1 at the Estadio Jose Alvalade. Manchester United is currently Amorim’s home.
After this one, though, the 26-year-old has more questions than answers.

At times, it felt like men vs. boys because of center backs Gabriel and William Saliba.
The Sporting supporters displayed their amazing vocal abilities by performing a translated rendition of Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” in the opening minute of the match.
But as Arsenal handled things their way, putting pressure on Sporting early on and irritating them, those lovely noises soon turned into jeers.
Ousmane Diomande received a yellow card in the fourth minute after an unnecessary altercation that knocked Havertz out prior to the throw-in.
And another throw-in scored the first goal three minutes later.
Jurrien Timber, Thomas Partey, Declan Rice, and Martin Odegaard all contributed to the masterfully intricate move. Martinelli was able to tap in easily after Timber squared it up for him.
Arteta, the artist, took to the air. Since his squad hadn’t scored in four previous European away days, he wanted them to start as strongly as possible.
Saliba and Gabriel, who played together as “meat and two vegetables,” did a fantastic job of marking massive Swede Gyokeres, but Sporting returned.
Even though Gyokeres is currently among the top shooters in the continent, he was completely outperformed by a top-tier defense team.
out-beat, out-thought, and out-muscled.
For the majority of the first half, he lurked around like a troubled child whose ball had been taken by older children.
The more convoluted Arsenal became, the worse his mood got.
Saka caught the ball after Partey chipped it over the Sporting defenders. The ball entered the goal after passing through goalie Franco Israel’s legs.
Sporting was startled by Havertz’s second goalless end.
In every category, they were outperforming a club that had won 17 of their first 19 games this season.
Then, the Sporting supporters decided to present the most startling show ever to everyone within five miles using the burnt-out pyrotechnics from Bonfire Night.
However, it has little effect on rousing their favorite Sporting. Additionally, a sign that read “The Lion’s heart” appeared.
There wasn’t much of it in this show. The visitors were the ones who were roaring.
Additionally, the hosts had few, if any, responses to Arsenal’s constant attacks.

Arteta would have preferred to score another goal before the half to demonstrate their dominance. He grasped it immediately.
Rice struck Gabriel with the whip in the corner slowly, which annoyed the whistling home end, but it always hit him in the head.
When executed well, that kind of move is unstoppable, yet Sporting failed to mark at all.
Gyokeres didn’t appear to be able to add to his five goals in the tournament, and Arsenal doubled their Champions League score in forty-five minutes.
Gabriel ridiculed the Swedish player’s linked-finger celebration when the halftime whistle blew. Gyokeres threw the ball into an empty net from his own half out of rage.
Sporting scored their first actual goal before halftime.
Inacio put on from the ensuing corner, but David Raya had to make his first significant save on a shot from Hidemasa Morita.
Saka’s goal from 12 yards out and Diomande’s takedown of Odegaard in the box gave Arsenal the lead again. The Sporting supporters became louder as a result.
