Every time the World Cup gets closer, there are more and more ads that remind us of the upcoming football event.
And the World Cup wouldn’t be complete without Pepsi’s ad. They’ve even teased their real ad with a 26-second clip on their own YouTube account.
This soft drink company often makes some of the most memorable football ads, whether they show how sumo dancers can beat the best football players in the world at their own game or take a different look at Sir Alex Ferguson’s half-time team talks.
Pepsi has asked Lionel Messi, Paul Pogba, and the legendary Ronaldinho to help them with their “Nutmeg Royale” campaign this year. All three can be seen in the preview.
At different times in the trailer, all three of them can be seen performing skills in the streets of what looks like an Arabian city, along with Omar, Kaljit, and Ahmad.
There is a sign on the screen that says, “This year, a nutmeg will stop the world.” This gives us a hint about what the campaign story might be about. It’s impossible to get away from.
At the very end of the video, Messi takes off his white hoodie to show the Pepsi top that’s underneath.

Pepsi often makes ads with some of the biggest names in sports that get people’s attention.
In the past few years, big names like David Beckham, Francesco Totti, and Raul have been brand ambassadors for the company.
Pepsi has run huge advertising campaigns before. Their “Joy of Pepsi” ad during the 2001 Super Bowl, which starred Britney Spears, was one of the most expensive ads in TV history, costing $8.1 million.
