Gabriel Magalhaes, an Arsenal defender, seemed to make fun of Viktor Gyokeres after scoring on Tuesday night.
In the first half of Arsenal’s Champions League match in Portugal, the center-back leaped high to head in the team’s third goal. The Gunners were enjoying themselves immensely.
Gabriel rode off to celebrate after scoring. Gyokeres always celebrates by crossing his hands and then lifting them to his face.
His pals immediately ran to the Brazilian after he made the move, but social media users quickly noticed.
Gabriel defeated Swedish sensation Gyokeres in several bouts earlier in the game, and he was even seen giggling at the audience afterwards.
In the beginning of the game, Gabriel Martinelli scored for Arsenal after Jurrien Timber played a nice pass across the box. Soon after, Kai Havertz doubled Arsenal’s lead.
Gabriel then scored their third goal by defiantly heading a corner kick over the goalkeeper and over the line.
Football got back into the game after halftime thanks to a shot by Goncalo Inacio. However, Arsenal scored back through Bukayo Saka from the penalty spot.
Rio Ferdinand talked about what Sporting Lisbon star Gyokeres would need to do to get to the “top bracket” of forwards before the game.
Ferdinand said this about him before Sporting’s game against Arsenal on TNT Sports: “I wouldn’t put him in the top bracket yet because he hasn’t done it in a top league.”
“The Portuguese league, with all due respect, is fantastic, but it’s not the best.”
If he signs with a Premier League team, he will need to transform himself so that he can stand in front of everyone and declare, “This is who I am.”
“If his goal is to win, he should visit Manchester United.” I am not being serious! What matters most is that he knows the boss.
“The opportunity to start a new season with a club captained by a man who understands how to bring out the best in you and has already demonstrated that he can do that elsewhere will melt his lips. You will be accompanying him to a location where he is working on reconstruction.
In just 11 Primeira Liga games this season, he has scored 16 goals. In addition, he has scored five goals in four Champions League games, a couple more in the Portuguese cups, and nine goals in six Nations League games (plus four assists) for Sweden, where he plays alongside Alexander Isak and has the potential to be a very dangerous player.
In 69 games for Sporting, he has scored 67 goals and assisted on 19 more. Gyokeres’ goal celebration, in which he covers half of his face with his hands to resemble a mask, is imitated by fans worldwide. The origin of this move is another topic of debate.
