After their Champions League game, Jude Bellingham was seen waiting to trade shirts with his close friend Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Liverpool beat Real Madrid 2-0 on Wednesday night, with goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo for the home team. The Real Madrid star couldn’t save his team.

Los Blancos got another bad loss and are now 24th in the league table. However, Madrid star Bellingham did have one good thing happen.

The England player was seen waiting outside the Liverpool locker room after the game to trade shirts with his close friend Alexander-Arnold.

The fullback wasn’t there to give it to Bellingham himself, but his friend Ryan Gravenberch did while he went into the locker room and came back to give Bellingham the shirt.

The star player for Real Madrid had a sad face as he thought about the loss to Liverpool. He almost joined Liverpool before he moved to Spain. 

Since Bellingham joined the England team two years ago, the two have become good friends. Many people were wondering if roles would be balanced and if Alexander-Arnold could convince England’s star player to join Liverpool instead of Madrid. 

That didn’t happen, though, and now Alexander-Arnold’s future is uncertain while Bellingham’s is set.

During England’s run to the Euro 2024 final in Germany, the two became even closer. They have stayed close during recent international breaks.

Alexander-Arnold’s current contract ends in a year, so a deal could be reached as early as January. Pre-contract agreements can be made a few months before the end of the contract.

If that happened, it wouldn’t be the first time Madrid got a big-name player for free. Mbappe saw out his contract at PSG in France before going to Spain this summer.

Alexander-Arnold and Bellingham started two games together at the Euros this summer. Alexander-Arnold started in a midfield spot he wasn’t used to, but was dropped for the third group game and beyond after receiving criticism for his play.

After the criticism, the Real Madrid star defended his friend by telling ITV Sport, “He makes it so easy for me because he can control the game so well defensively in that position.”

“I know a lot of people say stupid things, but he’s so dangerous with that back-to-goal pressure, and it helped me too because I could take a break when he went out.”

“I think we understand each other well when it comes to the ball. He always wants to play positively and forward.”

Rio Ferdinand said that Liverpool is the “best team in Europe” and that they are “playing like Rottweilers that haven’t been fed in a while” earlier that night.

He told TNT Sports, “They’ve thrown down the gauntlet to all the other teams in Europe.” At the time, they look like the best team in Europe.

“They’re playing as a team and look like the hungriest people around.” And they don’t just look like they’re hungry; they’re getting results. 

“They look like they haven’t eaten in a long time. Rottweilers are running around the field after teams.” They’ve kept their cool.

Slot’s family was there, and he said it was a great night. “It’s always good to win a game, especially a big one like this,” the Dutchman said. He will be back at the AXA Training Center this morning to get ready for Sunday’s crucial title match against Manchester City, who are currently in third place.
