TOP TARGET: Arsenal rivals ‘resigned to losing’ England star as Gunners ‘hold talks’ over £46m transfer

With other Premier League teams, including Arsenal, interested in signing the midfield player, Crystal Palace is apparently getting ready to let go of Adam Wharton.

In January, the Eagles acquired Wharton from Championship team Blackburn Rovers for approximately £18 million.

Despite the commotion, he did not play, but he has been outstanding for Palace and won a place in England’s Euro 2024 score.

During the summer transfer season, the 20-year-old was connected to numerous clubs, but a move away from Selhurst Park did not happen.

With all due respect to Crystal Palace, it is obvious that Wharton has a large following and is set to join a larger team.

Although Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Arsenal have all been mentioned, Palace has not received any formal bids for its young midfield player.

Oliver Glasner’s team was apparently interested in signing Wharton in the summer, with Bayern Munich, another European powerhouse, asking £60 million for him.

Interest is still there despite Wharton’s dismal performance in a weak Palace squad this season.

Arsenal target Wharton says Crystal Palace is “resigned to losing.”Wharton is a “transfer target” for Arsenal, and Crystal Palace “are resigned to losing” him, according to CaughtOffside.

The Eagles have come to the “realization that they are likely to lose” the England midfielder, in fact.

Arsenal “hopes to sign Wharton for a fee in the region of €55m” (£45.7m) and “has already held some talks over potentially signing Wharton.” By the way, euros for a move between two Premier League teams? Not possessing it.

Up to the end of the season, Man City is also interested in Rodri, a quality midfield player.

With Jorginho and Thomas Partey’s contracts expiring at the end of 2024–2025, Arsenal may prioritize recruiting a new defensive midfield player.

While Jorginho has a one-year extension option, it is unknown if the Gunners intend to pursue a contract deal with Partey.

Although Mikel Arteta is said to be a fan of Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad, Wharton might be the ideal addition.

The Sociedad playmaker refused to leave his boyhood club when Liverpool attempted to sign him in the summer.

It should be quite difficult to persuade Zubimendi to go to England, and it’s also rumored that Man City is interested in replacing Rodri with the Spanish international.

In September, Zubimendi talked candidly about turning down Liverpool.
