Rafael Nadal wants to win the Madrid Open for the sixth time. Zidane, Vinicius Jr., and King Felipe VI of Spain all watched him play against Alex De Minaur in the second round.
In the second round of the 2024 Madrid Open on Saturday, Nadal beat Alex De Minaur, the tenth best player in the world, 7-6 (8-6), 6-3. They had already fought against each other ten days before. The 37-year-old was beaten by De Minaur in the second round of the Barcelona Open.
On X, the old Twitter site, Tennis TV shared a video of King Felipe VI of Spain getting out of a car and introducing himself to the people in charge of the Madrid Open. He then went into the stadium while the game was still going on.
Vinicius Jr. and Zinedine Zidane, two football players from France and Real Madrid, were shown in another film that the ATP Tour put on X. It was seen that they were in the stands.
After the match, Nadal told Sky Sports that he was glad he had the chance to play against Alex de Minaur because he was so good. The football player from Spain had surgery in 2023 because he was hurt. He has missed some games this season. He told everyone that he was healthy and would take things one step at a time.
“I can’t wait to play Alex de Minaur, who is a great player.” My body has been more important to me than tennis. If I can play tennis well, I’ll see how far I can go. He said, “I’ll see how I get better over time.”
