Bellingham and Mbappe scored together, bringing a comfortable 2-0 victory for Real Madrid against Getafe, in round 15 of La Liga 2024/25.

Barca’s shocking defeat to Las Palmas has given Real Madrid even more motivation. If they beat Getafe and win the remaining match, the Spanish Royal team will surpass their arch-rivals to take the top spot in La Liga.

In the 26th minute, Nyom fouled defender Rudiger in the penalty area and the referee immediately pointed to the penalty spot. On the 11m mark, it was not Mbappe but Bellingham who was chosen to take the penalty and he calmly fooled goalkeeper Soria to open the score.

Less than 10 minutes later, the “White Vultures” doubled the gap. Bellingham continued to make his mark with a delicate pass for Mbappe to run down and make a dangerous curling shot, the ball hit the inside of the post before going into the visitors’ net.

In the second half, Los Blancos were still dominating the game. Mbappe was the name mentioned, but the French striker missed two consecutive good chances in the 74th to 77th minutes.

In the 88th minute, luck continued to be on Real Madrid’s side when Patrick’s powerful shot hit the crossbar and the post before bouncing out. Before the match ended, Mbappe once again missed a good chance with a close-range shot that went wide.

Winning 2-0, Real Madrid has 33 points to reclaim second place in La Liga. Coach Carlo Ancelotti’s team is only 1 point behind the leader Barca but has played 1 match less.
