Kevin De Bruyne celebrated Manchester City’s historic treble-winning season by gifting his teammates custom-made silver iPhones.
Before the new Premier League season kicked off, Kevin De Bruyne gifted his teammates 26 custom-made silver iPhones, each valued at £5,000.
These luxury devices were crafted by iDesign Gold, renowned as one of the top custom mobile makers in the world. De Bruyne unveiled the phones at a surprise event on Thursday.
The inspiration for this generous gesture stemmed from Lionel Messi’s earlier gift of 35 24-carat gold iPhones, worth £175,000, to Argentina’s World Cup-winning team and staff.
Pep Guardiola’s team is in discussions to establish a partnership for creating unique iPhones inspired by De Bruyne’s idea.
The 32-year-old commented, “I’ve worked with IDG for a few years. I also love their limited edition phones; they’re like works of art!”
City had its best season ever in 2022–23, with Guardiola’s team clinching the Premier League, the Champions League, and the FA Cup, making them only the second English team in history to achieve this feat.
To commemorate the success, the star midfielder ensured that all players, along with Guardiola and the club’s owner, Sheikh Mansour, received an iPhone 14 case engraved with their names and the club’s logo.
