New Balance Launches Furon Saka Signature ‘Seven Edition’
Right after receiving the commemorative ‘PFA Young Player of the Year boot, New Balance unveiled Bukayo Saka’s next signature shoe, the ‘Seven Edition
Bukayo Saka recently sported these boots during victories over Wolves and Lens.
Take a look at the New Balance Furon v7 ‘Seven Edition’ football boots in white and red below.
The Furon v7 ‘Seven Edition’ boots feature a mainly white design accented by striking red patterns on the upper. Notable motifs include the number 7, Est 2001 (Saka’s birth year), along with the words ‘Hope’, ‘Charity’, and ‘Love always wins’.
The standout feature is the outsole, prominently displaying the number 7 linked to Saka.
Saka has a unique bond with the number 7: the phrase “seventh heaven” translates to Extreme Joy, and Saka’s first name, Bukayo, means “adds to joy,” a gift from his grandmother. It might seem like a stretch, but consider this: Saka was born on September 5th, with September stemming from the Latin word for seven, as it was originally the seventh month in the Roman calendar. Still not convinced? Saka joined Arsenal’s Academy at the age of seven. He debuted wearing number 87 and had number 77 the following season before Arteta assigned him the number seven when he was just 18.
The new New Balance Furon v7 ‘Seven Edition’ soccer cleats share the same technology as all previous colorways released.
The upper is crafted with Hypoknit fiber for enhanced elasticity and optimal support, improving the player’s ball control, while a durable protective layer covers it.
The shoe collar is tightly knitted to maintain stability during extended play. The sole is made from special nylon, featuring multi-directional studs that adapt for flexible speed based on the game situation. It includes 6 acceleration support studs and 3 deceleration support studs to enhance grip on the field.
.
The bias edge (lace area) features a perforated cover layer that expands the ball contact area and enhances the fit around the instep without causing discomfort.
The seamless tongue is integrated with the Hypoknit upper for a lightweight, breathable feel, allowing for better stretch along the instep and helping to shape the shoe. The Hypoknit yarn’s weaving, combined with the overall construction from the upper to the Achilles heel, gives a sock-like sensation.
This shoe is designed for players focused on speed and aggression, featuring a stud structure that supports acceleration and woven fibers that enhance ball feel. The one-sided tongue design increases the ball contact area on the instep, improving the kicking experience.
Compared to brands like NIKE or PUMA, New Balance’s boots may appear to have slightly fewer technological features. However, in 2023, the FURON V7 PRO TF version is regarded as the top shoe in their lineup.
