Real Madrid could be looking to strengthen their midfield in the summer with Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Larsson one of their targets

Real Madrid is likely to look for midfield reinforcements next summer to address the gap left by Toni Kroos this year. One player on their radar is 20-year-old Hugo Larsson from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Larsson has been impressive for Eintracht, who are currently the strongest challengers to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga. According to SkySports DE (via Diario AS), Real Madrid is among several clubs scouting the Swedish talent, with Manchester United and Arsenal also reportedly interested. His market value is estimated to be around €50 million.

Real Madrid had previously identified Larsson as a player to watch since his time in the under-19s at Malmo, where he moved for €9 million two summers ago, receiving positive scouting reports.

This season, Larsson has started in all but four of Eintracht’s matches, contributing 4 goals and an assist in 19 appearances. He has demonstrated the ability to make late runs into the box while playing primarily in a deeper midfield role. Recently, Los Blancos have relied on Luka Modric and Dani Ceballos in midfield, partly due to injuries and also to regain more control in the center of the pitch.
