Arsenal secured their third consecutive Premier League win with a solid 2-0 victory over Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners faced a challenging first half, struggling to assert their usual dominance against a well-organized United defense. Their only clear-cut opportunity came from Thomas Partey, who had a chance from a corner.
However, Arsenal improved significantly after the break, scoring both goals from corners. Jurrien Timber and William Saliba found the net, thanks to excellent crosses from Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka.
Declan Rice initially had a slow start, making minimal impact in the opening 25 minutes. Yet, he turned the game around, winning seven out of eight duels with perfect accuracy in his long balls. Additionally, he won all his tackles and delivered three impressive inswinging corners, one of which set up Timber’s goal. United goalkeeper Andre Onana had to stay alert as Rice’s deliveries nearly found the net.
Despite struggling with a broken toe last month, Rice showed a remarkable recovery, contributing significantly to Arsenal’s play.
After Chelsea’s heavy win against Southampton pushed Arsenal down to third in the league table, they are now seven points behind leaders Liverpool, who drew with Newcastle United after conceding a late equalizer. The Gunners will need to maintain their winning form to keep the pressure on the top of the table.
