New Balance Launches Furon Saka Signature ‘Seven Edition’
Following his recent honor with the commemorative ‘PFA Young Player of the Year’ boot, Bukayo Saka’s latest signature footwear, the ‘Seven Edition’ Furon v7 football boots, have been unveiled by New Balance.
Saka debuted the boots during recent victories over Wolves and Lens, showcasing them on the pitch as he helped propel Arsenal to success.
The Furon v7 ‘Seven Edition’ boots feature a predominantly white design, accentuated with striking red patterns across the upper. The design is rich in personal motifs, including the number 7, “Est 2001” (Saka’s birth year), and phrases like “Hope,” “Charity,” and “Love always wins.” The standout feature is the outsole, which proudly displays the number 7, a key symbol linked to Saka.
Saka’s connection to the number 7 runs deep. The term “seventh heaven” represents extreme joy, a sentiment linked to Saka’s name, “Bukayo,” which means “adds to joy” and was given to him by his grandmother. Moreover, Saka was born on September 5th (the seventh month of the Roman calendar), and he joined Arsenal’s Academy at the age of seven. Over the years, he has worn the number 7 jersey, which was given to him at just 18.
The New Balance Furon v7 ‘Seven Edition’ boots feature the same technology found in previous colorways. The upper is made of Hypoknit fiber, which enhances elasticity and provides optimal support for better ball control. The shoe also includes a durable protective layer for added resilience. The collar is tightly knitted to ensure stability during long play sessions.
The sole is crafted from special nylon, with multi-directional studs designed for speed and flexibility based on the game’s demands. It features six acceleration support studs and three deceleration support studs, ensuring superior grip.
Additional features include a perforated cover layer on the lace area, which expands the ball contact zone while enhancing comfort around the instep. The seamless tongue integrates with the Hypoknit upper for a lightweight, breathable feel, providing a sock-like sensation that enhances stretch along the instep.
