According to DSPORTS, Inter Miami is interested in recruiting midfielder James Rodriguez from the beginning of 2025. This team uses Messi’s influence and a place in the Club World Cup to convince the Colombian player.
James Rodriguez once surpassed Messi to win the title of Best Player of Copa America 2024, when he played brilliantly and miraculously revived to bring the Colombian team to the final (losing to Argentina 0-1 after extra time).
After Copa America, James Rodriguez joined Rayo Vallecano Club in La Liga (Spain) from Sao Paulo (Brazil) on a free transfer. However, the 33-year-old star’s hope of playing a lot of football has become disappointing, when he only played 6 matches since the beginning of the season and did not play a main role.
According to DSPORTS: “James Rodriguez will soon end his contract with Rayo Vallecano from the beginning of 2025 and will once again become a free agent. He plans to continue playing in Europe. However, there have been contacts from Inter Miami to recruit this veteran star to play alongside Messi for the big goal in 2025 when participating in the Club World Cup. These are also the two main factors that Inter Miami is using to try to convince James Rodriguez”.
In addition to the goal of strengthening the squad, Inter Miami is actively negotiating to invite a new coach to replace coach Tata Martino who decided to resign after the shocking defeat in the first round of the MLS Cup play-off.
According to the Daily Mirror (UK): “Mr. David Beckham, Chairman and co-owner of Inter Miami, is targeting many famous coaches such as Erik Ten Hag (former coach of M.U Club) and Frank Lampard. Besides, coaches Sylvinho, Xavi, and Mascherano are all on the list. However, no official negotiations have taken place yet”.
Meanwhile, the AS (Spain) newspaper revealed: “Former coach of Real Madrid Club, Mr. Rafa Benitez is emerging as a bright candidate that David Beckham can choose to lead Inter Miami to replace coach Tata Martino. In addition, coach Brendan Rodgers, currently leading Celtic, and coach Steve Cherundolo of LAFC, are also candidates to become the new coach of Messi and his teammates”.
“However, coach Xavi Hernandez, who left Barcelona last summer and was replaced by coach Hansi Flick, is considered the most surprising candidate thanks to the persuasion of Mr. David Beckham to go to Inter Miami to reunite with his old teammates Messi, Suarez, Busquets and Alba,” AS expressed.
