Declan Rice, affectionately known as “Deccers,” graces the cover of Issue 01, marking his first magazine cover for CircleZeroEight. Styled by Johnson himself and photographed by Maxwell Tomlinson, the editorial presents an unfiltered perspective on the sports world. Rice is adorned in Prada, epitomizing the intersection of sports and high fashion.

Diverse Cover Stars

Alongside Rice, the issue features two additional covers that spotlight influential figures in sports. Annie Jill Tagoe, a rising British athlete, stuns in a look curated by Katie Grand and captured by Sølve Sundsbø. The third cover stars the legendary nine-time Olympic gold medalist Carl Lewis, styled by Dan May and photographed by John Balsom in Los Angeles.

The FRESH Narrative

Premiering in collaboration with the Design Museum, FRESH emphasizes the dynamic relationship between sports and contemporary culture. Contributions from photographer Ewen Spencer, journalist Lauren Cochrane, and artist Saul Nash further enrich this unique exploration.

Elgar Johnson articulates the mission of FRESH: “We want to talk about sports in a way that has never been done before. Athletes are no longer just players; they’re pivotal figures shaping the world. It’s time to listen to what sports have to say.”

CircleZeroEight’s inaugural issue cements its place as a pioneering platform, blending style, culture, and the transformative power of sports.
