Arsenal are currently enjoying a strong run, and fans are optimistic about finally securing a major trophy this season.
The Gunners are firmly in contention for the Premier League title and are sitting third in the Champions League table, putting them close to qualifying for the next round.
Mikel Arteta has transformed the Arsenal squad over the past few years, and every player is not only highly talented but also possesses the right mentality.
Now, TNT Sports pundit Karen Carney has highlighted a young Gunners player who is poised to become exceptionally good, saying it’s “scary” to think about his potential in the coming years.
Karen Carney says it’s ‘scary’ how good Arsenal star Bukayo Saka will become
On Wednesday night, Arsenal made light work of Monaco, cruising to a 3-0 victory thanks to goals from Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz.
Saka once again outlined his credentials as one of the best attacking talents in world football as he took his tally for the season to nine goals and 12 assists.
Carney, speaking to TNT Sports after the game, praised Saka for how he gets “every decision” right and backed him to become a genuine world-beater in future.
“Saka’s so mature for his age, you can see that in the interview he does with Lewis-Skelly,” she said.
“Every decision he makes is the right decision. For someone that young to be that good – it’s scary how good he will be in three or four years.”
What Arteta said about Saka after the game
Arteta, speaking to the Arsenal media team after the game, seemed to agree with the notion that Saka can already be considered world class.
“You have to be able to do that consistently throughout many years to put yourself in that position,” he said.
“What he’s already done at his age, you can already put in brackets.
“We can compare what he’s done in his first six years of professional football which is exceptional, you know, and that’s it and his aim is to improve.
“He has the players and environment to continue to do that and I’m sure he will.”
Arsenal are next in action on Saturday when they host Everton in the Premier League, with the game at the Emirates Stadium scheduled to kick off at 4pm GMT.
