MAN UTD Player ratings vs Man City: Amad Diallo became UNSUNG HERO to mark the SHINING stone, England’s best centre-back gave IMPRESSIVE gift to Amorim

Manchester United came from behind to defeat Manchester City 2-1 at the Etihad.

The champions were far from their fluent best, and the atmosphere of the Manchester derby was also lacking, but it appeared that they would hold on for the three points as United battled in new head coach Ruben Amorim’s style.

Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo scored late goals to give Manchester United a thrilling 2-1 win over Manchester City.

The following are our player ratings from the game.

Andre Onana 5 – For City’s first goal, they were thoroughly outmatched. Did not even react. His distribution was slightly below the norm.

Matthijs de Ligt 6 – Decent on the right side of the defense three, assisting Mazraoui in dealing with City’s wide threat.

Harry Maguire (8) is United’s top defender. Very effective in the center of the three-man defence. Stuck to Erling Haaland like glue, ensuring the Norwegian was never truly endangered. Some critical blocks and tackles within the box. United’s unsung hero versus their crosstown rivals.

Lisandro Martinez 7 – Despite being targeted, particularly in the air, he held his own. Overall, it was an acceptable performance. A fantastic pass to Amad for the victory.

Noussair Mazraoui 7 – Had a difficult start with several clumsy passes and defensive moves, but settled down as the game progressed. I connected nicely with Amad on the right.

Manuel Ugarte 6 – Provided excellent coverage for his midfield partners. I kept it basic, recycled the ball nicely, and looked to get involved in. Going future, more has to be offered.

Manchester City 1-2 Manchester United: Player Ratings and Match Highlights

Mason Mount 5 – He was only on the pitch for 15 minutes before being hurt and had to leave. What a bummer about the setback. Looked decent on the left and was making some room.

Diogo Dalot 5 – Under Amorim, he can’t seem to get used to playing as a wingback. Poor crosses that Hojlund had no chance of scoring from. He found himself in space at times, but he failed to make it worthwhile. Failed to get close enough to Gvardiol for the City goal.

Bruno Fernandes 7 – Presented with possibly United’s finest chance to restore parity, he pulled his shot just wide. When Mount came off, he moved slightly higher up the pitch, but he wasn’t as effective as usual. Carelessly lost the ball a few times. Converted on the spot.

Amad Diallo 9: United’s primary threat. The majority of United’s offensive success was due to his efforts.Brilliant work to win the penalty and eventually score the winning goal to secure the visitors’ triumph. United’s top player by far.

Amad took it round Ederson and finished calmly minutes after winning a penalty

Rasmus Hojlund 5 – Like Dalot, he may have gotten closer to Gvardiol for the hosts’ initial goal. He mostly had his back to the goal, which is not one of his strengths. Nice feed to Fernandes for the captain’s dinked shot.

Substitutes

Kobbie Mainoo 6 – Came in to replace Mount. Good in possession, but didn’t provide much going forward. Some good defensive contributions.

Joshua Zirkzee 5 – Didn’t contribute anything when he came on.

Leny Yoro 6 – Helped United cross the finish line when

Antony 5: Same as Zirkzee.

Victor Lindelof 5 – Helped United cross the finish line.
