In response to new coach Hansi Flick’s request, Barcelona has submitted an offer for Jeremie Frimpong of Bayer Leverkusen.

SPORT reports that Barcelona’s initial offer for Frimpong is less than the 50 million euros Transfermarkt estimates the market value to be. However, this website attests that Leverkusen might be open to switching players.

Flick’s bid appears to have made Frimpong Barca’s target. Although the 59-year-old strategist is obviously well-versed in German football, SPORT notes that it is unclear if Barcelona will recruit anyone at this time due to their challenging financial circumstances, which may account for their lowball offer.

Despite being born in Amsterdam, Frimpong played for Manchester City’s youth team for almost ten years after joining at the age of nine. He has thrived as an offensive full-back in Xabi Alonso’s Leverkusen squad since making his professional debut at Celtic, concluding the 2023–2024 season with 14 goals and 12 assists, which helped the team win the Bundesliga.
