Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong may be facing a crowded summer transfer season, as has already been reported.
Given that Barça still has to make money through sales and that his salaries will be a financial burden on the team, the 26-year-old Dutch star is still being linked to a summer departure.
Manchester United could move for Frenkie de Jong
In regards to the potential exit of Frenkie de Jong, the Barcelona star is sure to have no shortage of admirers.
Additionally, Manchester United is anticipated to be first in line for the 26-year-old AFC Ajax midfield standout.
Since Erik ten Hag took over as manager in 2021, the Red Devils have been trying to sign the Netherlands international and are still hoping to do so.

Manchester United is now getting closer to signing two Dutch football players after Ten Hag inked a new deal.
In fact, negotiations are on for the Red Devils to recruit Matthijs de Ligt, a former teammate of De Jong from Ajax, from Bayern Munich. They are also trying to get Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna.
With the signing of Frenkie de Jong, another Dutch star, the Premier League powerhouses might be tempted to further their recruitment efforts.
Due to the current economic climate, the midfielder’s future at Barcelona is not completely assured at this time, and Manchester United may make another move for the 26-year-old.
De Jong is now recuperating from an injury, so it’s unlikely that he’ll be fit for the season to begin. It will be interesting to see if he is still at the club when the summer window shuts.
