According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Real Madrid has identified Theo Hernandez as a priority target for the left-back position. The club is ready to offer €30 million for the AC Milan defender, who has earned 36 caps for the French national team.

Theo Hernandez’s rise at AC MilanSince joining AC Milan from Real Madrid in July 2019, Theo Hernandez has established himself as one of Serie A’s standout players. The French full-back played a pivotal role in the Rossoneri’s 2021/22 Serie A title-winning campaign. Despite Milan’s inconsistency in recent seasons, Hernandez has maintained a high level of performance.

The 27-year-old has made nearly 250 appearances for AC Milan, contributing 31 goals and 41 assists. However, his deteriorating relationship with manager Paulo Fonseca has created uncertainty about his future at the club.

This situation has attracted interest from major European clubs, including Real Madrid. The Spanish giants reportedly intend to re-sign Hernandez next year but have capped their transfer offer at €30 million.

A potential Real Madrid comeback?Real Madrid’s interest in Hernandez makes sense given their struggles in the left-back position. Ferland Mendy’s inconsistent form and Fran Garcia’s inability to solidify a starting role have led the club to seek reinforcements.

Hernandez, therefore, has emerged as a strong candidate for the role, with Real Madrid hoping to secure his services for €30 million. Reports earlier this year suggested the Frenchman is open to returning to the Santiago Bernabeu, making the transfer more plausible.

However, AC Milan’s valuation could pose a challenge if it exceeds €30 million. If no agreement is reached, Real Madrid may opt to wait for Hernandez’s contract to run down, potentially targeting a move in the 2026 summer window instead. It remains to be seen whether Hernandez returns to Madrid next year or in the future.
