After receiving a special goodbye homage on Sunday night, Spanish football icon Jesús Navas conveyed his sincere gratitude to Real Madrid and their followers.
Due to a severe hip ailment, the 39-year-old Sevilla legend ended his brilliant career with his final game against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu. Real Madrid made sure the occasion would never be forgotten by giving Navas a signed shirt from Carlo Ancelotti’s team and a guard of honor.
Both before and after the game, the Bernabéu fans applauded Navas with great affection. In his post-match interview, Navas, who was deeply moved, said, “I’ve never seen anything like it on a rival pitch.”
Later, he expressed his appreciation on social media:
The event at the Bernabéu today was a remarkable recollection. It is unlike anything I have ever seen at a rival stadium. I would want to express my gratitude to the Real Madrid supporters for their admiration and commitment, which will never be forgotten. Additionally, we are grateful to the players, coaches, and staff that put this tribute together.
