Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly eyeing Barcelona’s young attacking talent, Vitor Roque, as they seek to bolster their squad. The 19-year-old Brazilian youth international has caught the attention of Spurs after his impressive performances while on loan at Real Betis.
According to SPORT, Tottenham’s scouts were recently present at a match where Roque played, and they were impressed by his contribution, including an assist during Betis’ 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano. Roque has made a significant impact at Betis, tallying eight goal contributions in 23 appearances since joining on loan from Barcelona.
Previously, Roque was highly regarded for his performances at Athletico Paranaense, which led to Barcelona securing his services at the beginning of 2024. However, due to limited opportunities under Xavi and later Hansi Flick, he was loaned out to gain more playing time.
Tottenham is keen to add more attacking options, especially considering the uncertain futures of Son Heung-min and Richarlison. Roque could serve as a valuable long-term acquisition for the North London club. While Betis has a buy option worth €25 million that would grant them 80% of the player’s rights, it remains to be seen how a potential transfer would unfold, given the complexities involved.
As Spurs explore their options, they will need to navigate the competition and the intricacies of Roque’s loan agreement with Betis.
