Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has been spending quality time with his family this Christmas, despite ongoing uncertainty about his future at the club. The 27-year-old shared a festive photo on Instagram, captioned: “Family time – Happy Christmas everyone,” as he enjoyed the holiday season with his loved ones.
Rashford’s future at United has been the subject of speculation, with reports linking him to a potential move away following a strained relationship with manager Ruben Amorim. Since Amorim took charge in November, Rashford has been excluded from the last three matchday squads, missing matches against Manchester City, Tottenham, and Bournemouth.
In a revealing interview last week, Rashford hinted that he is open to seeking a new challenge, prompting further uncertainty about his position at United. Amorim responded by suggesting that Rashford’s comments may not have been entirely his decision, hinting at possible influence from the player’s entourage.

Ruben Amorim addressed the ongoing situation with Marcus Rashford, acknowledging the complexities surrounding the player’s recent comments. Amorim explained, “It is a hard situation. I understand that these players have a lot of people around them, and they sometimes make choices that are not the first idea from the player. I understand, I can separate things.”
He continued, “I am always here to help Marcus, as any other player. They have to do what they have to do. They chose to do the interview because it’s not just Marcus. I understand that.” This response suggests Amorim’s recognition of the pressures players face from their entourages, while reaffirming his commitment to supporting Rashford and the team as a whole.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Amorim added: ‘As a coach, I just focus on performance and the way he trains. The rest, it is better for me and the club to deal with that when the time comes.
‘At the moment I focus on improving Marcus. We need a talented guy like Marcus in this moment. I forget the interview now and see what I see on the pitch.’
Amorim has revealed that Rashford wants to return to action for United, with the coach saying that it is his decision to leave him out.
The United boss insisted that he knows what he is doing with regards to omitting Rashford from the squad.
Amorim said: ‘Yeah, it’s my decision. He wants to play. He is trying. It’s my decision, only my decision.
‘(There’s) no situation. When I feel that is the right moment, I will change something. Until then I will continue to think about what is the best for the team.
‘I spoke with a lot of players individually during training, so I’m trying to do things my way – and it’s the only way I know. If I don’t do that, I will lose myself, and I will not lose myself. I know what I’m doing.’
