Ramos spent two seasons at PSG alongside Messi. He is currently a free agent looking for a new club after his contract with the Parisians expired. Spanish newspaper Sport say David Beckham’s Inter Miami are “one step away” from signing the centre-back.

Ramos has also been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia. The most likely destination is Al-Nassr, where former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo plays. Ramos and Ronaldo spent nine years together at Real Madrid, winning two La Liga titles and four Champions Leagues.

But the Spanish defender looks set to reject a move to the Middle East in favour of a move to the United States. And a deal with Inter Miami would see him team-up with Lionel Messi once again.

Ramos could be the latest star to join Inter Miami this summer. Previously, the MLS team successfully recruited the former Barca trio of Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.

In his debut match for Inter Miami, Messi scored a beautiful goal from a free kick to bring a 2-1 victory over Cruz Azul. Busquets also had a relatively impressive debut while Alba had just signed a contract.
