In the Spanish Super Cup final, Barcelona jumped off to a 4-1 lead over Real Madrid thanks to a fantastic solo goal by Lionel Messi, which was channeled by Lamine Yamal.
At the King Abdullah Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Kylian Mbappe gave Real Madrid a 1-0 lead in just five minutes. However, Barca responded 17 minutes later with Yamal, who performed his best imitation of club superstar Messi. Wild celebrations broke out when the teenage attacker sprinted onto a through pass from Robert Lewandowski, dribbled past two defenders, and calmly put the ball past the defenseless Real goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. After that, Barca gained complete control of the game. Lewandowski scored a penalty, and goals from Alejandro Balde and Raphinha gave Hansi Flick’s team a 4-1 halftime advantage.
After the break, Raphinha scored his second goal to make it 5-1 and essentially terminate the game as a contest, making matters worse for Real. Later on, though, there were more dramatic moments when Wojciech Szczesny, the goalkeeper for Barcelona, was sent off for a clumsy foul on Mbappe. In an attempt to strengthen the Barca defense for the last half of the match, Flick substituted Dani Olmo for Yamal after that event. However, this move backfired as Rodrygo then gave Real Madrid their second goal of the evening, giving Carlo Ancelotti’s team hope once more. However, Barca hung on for a spectacular 5-2 victory to secure their first trophy of the tournament, meaning there would be no more goals.
