Napoli is reportedly considering a move for Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho as they look to replace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is anticipated to join Paris Saint-Germain after indicating his intention to leave the club. With Kvaratskhelia also drawing interest from Liverpool, Napoli faces increased pressure to secure an appropriate replacement.

According to Sport Italia, Napoli manager Antonio Conte has pinpointed Garnacho as his preferred option to replace Kvaratskhelia. Manchester United has reportedly established an asking price, suggesting that Garnacho could be available for €50 million (£42 million). The 20-year-old has experienced limited playing time under new manager Ruben Amorim, having been sidelined for the last five matches, including the recent win against Manchester City.

United is reportedly open to offers for nearly all their players, including previously deemed untouchables like Kobbie Mainoo and Garnacho. The club faces pressure to generate revenue to meet the Premier League’s stringent profit and sustainability regulations, which place a premium on homegrown talent in terms of valuation. This has resulted in a spike in Garnacho’s market value, making it challenging for United to ignore significant offers.

While the club would prefer to keep both Garnacho and Mainoo, they may be more inclined to sell Garnacho, especially with Marcus Rashford likely to depart this month. Garnacho has struggled to adapt to Amorim’s 3-4-3 formation and hasn’t started a match since early December.

Amid the transfer speculation, Amorim has voiced his intention to retain Garnacho, commending his skill. “I love my players. I want to keep my players, especially the talented ones,” he stated. He highlighted the necessity of holding onto their top players for the club’s future, expressing satisfaction with the development of both Garnacho and Mainoo.

At present, the only United players deemed untouchable are Leny Yoro, who was signed for £59 million in the summer, and Amad Diallo, who recently signed a new contract.
