Arsenal are reportedly eyeing the chance to sign Brighton’s Evan Ferguson this month🇮🇪🔴✍️

Arsenal may want to sign Evan Ferguson from Brighton on loan, but only if they can get past one setback first.

This January, the 20-year-old Irish striker has been linked to moves to the Gunners, West Ham, and Leicester.

After joining the Seagulls in 2021, Ferguson had a successful season on the South Coast the following year.

However, the last two years have been difficult for him, including a 33-game goalless stretch that ended in October.

Brighton still views Ferguson as a potential star despite his recent struggles in front of goal.

Additionally, it seemed that the club may approve a loan exit based on previous remarks made by manager Fabian Hurzeler.

Following the injuries to Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka, Arsenal is in dire need of attacking additions.

Ben Jacobs of GiveMeSport claims that the Gunners are considering a deal for Ferguson.

But only if they let rid of goalie Neto, who is presently on loan from Bournemouth, could they finalize a trade.

In August, the Brazilian goalie covered for David Raya on Deadline Day.

With the exception of the keepers’ contributions on the field, the relocation has been a complete failure.

After playing for the Cherries in the Carabao Cup earlier this season, Neto is cup-tied and has not played a single minute in the Premier League.

The 35-year-old is occupying an important loan spot in the Arsenal roster.

Only two Premier League players from the same league may be loaned to top-tier clubs at once.

The Gunners currently have two domestic loans: Neto and Raheem Sterling, who is on loan from Chelsea.

Hurzeler stated earlier this month: “We will discuss what is crucial for [Ferguson].”

“We will decide together what is crucial for his growth and where he can make the biggest progress.

“The player’s and the club’s best interests should guide this decision. For instance, we dispatched [Facundo] Buonanotte to Leicester.

Since the Premier League is difficult and demanding, particularly for young players, we know it’s a great league to improve.

It’s the ideal setting for adaptation.

“We want them to play for Brighton, and they ultimately want to play for Brighton.

“So, when they improve in the environment of the league where we are also playing, it’s always very helpful.”
