WAYNE ROONEY is returning to England with his family to reside in his £20 million “Morrisons mansion,” which boasts a full-size football pitch, two fishing lakes, a theater, and a pool.
The Manchester United and England legend has recently been appointed as Birmingham City’s new manager, taking over from the dismissed John Eustace at St Andrews.
Wayne, Coleen, and the rest of the Rooney family moved into their dream home in 2021.
Their £20 million Cheshire home was referred to as the ‘Morrisons mansion’ during its construction.
The house sits on a whopping 40 acres of land and has two fishing lakes, a cinema and pool
Rooney is said to have paid over £4 million to a Cheshire property developer to construct the gated home.
While he was living with his coaching staff in Washington, his wife Coleen and their four sons—Kai, Klay, Kit, and Cass—remained in England.
Now, after joining the Tom Brady-backed Blues, he will receive all the support he needs from his family as he returns home to their luxurious Cheshire mansion full-time.
At 37, both Rooney and Coleen have an impressive property portfolio, which includes homes in Florida, the Caribbean, and across the UK. However, their crown jewel is a six-bedroom, £20 million palatial house situated on a 40-acre estate.
Built from the ground up, the family moved in December 2021. The property, located in Cheshire, is known as High Lake Manor, allowing Rooney and his partner to technically call themselves the lord and lady of the manor.
During its development, it was revealed that the all-time top scorer for Manchester United had a full-size football pitch installed, complete with a seating area. The five-a-side pitch even features changing rooms with showers for his friends, although he was unable to install floodlights due to the rural setting.
Additionally, the mansion includes a garage for his car collection, a cinema, a swimming pool, and two man-made fishing lakes.

Rooney is believed to be an avid angler.
The house was previously ridiculed by neighbors for resembling a Morrisons supermarket due to its size and design.
However, unlike a Morrisons, it now features an orangery, bar, TV room, snooker room, cinema, and wine cellar.
The luxurious Rooney residence also includes a large indoor swimming pool enclosed by a glass pavilion, along with a hot tub, plunge pool, steam room, and separate “his” and “hers” changing rooms.
But that’s not all—it features an expansive patio, beautifully landscaped gardens, and a luxury car garage.
Rooney is believed to have paid over £4 million to a Cheshire property developer for the mansion, which also includes a guest toilet and separate lifts.
One of the lifts connects the main area to the basement, which houses a spacious gym, pool, Jacuzzi, and cinema room.
The decision to build their dream home came after an attempted break-in at Rooney’s Cheshire residence in 2016, which was thwarted by the police.
Having grown up in a council house in Liverpool, the former striker has showcased his real estate acumen with a sprawling villa in Barbados, available for rent at £25,000 a week.
He purchased a £320,000 waterfront apartment in Florida in 2007 and spent £450,000 on a detached home in Liverpool for his parents.
Now, he and Coleen, who are believed to have a net worth of around £115 million, own properties worldwide after getting together at the age of 16.
Rooney rose through the ranks at his childhood club Everton and made a mark for England at Euro 2004 before a high-profile transfer to Manchester United.
Under Sir Alex Ferguson, he won the Champions League and the Premier League title five times.
Rooney broke Sir Bobby Charlton’s record to become the all-time goalscorer for both Manchester United and England, a record that has since been surpassed by Harry Kane.
In 2017, he made an emotional return to Everton, finishing that season as their top scorer before moving to the MLS to join DC United.
The veteran forward scored 23 goals in 48 appearances for the American club before returning to England to join Championship side Derby County in a surprising move for the 2020/21 season.
