Following her breakup with the Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola’s wife has spoken out and stated that she is “feeling great.”
A week after the shocking breakup of the pair was made public, Cristina Serra was a picture of contentment as she shopped alone in Barcelona.
She grinned when a Spanish reporter approached her in the heart of the city, showcasing her chic ensemble of loose-fitting grey trousers and white sneakers, along with a designer handbag draped over the left shoulder of her cream-colored coat.
“Perfecta, gracias,” the mother of three said when asked how she was doing. In English, “Thanks, perfect.”
When asked again how she was feeling, she responded, “Everything’s fine.”
When questioned about rumors that Guardiola’s decision to remain at Manchester City and sign a two-year contract extension with his team was the reason for their divorce, the attractive brunette chose to remain silent.
At the beginning of last week, Lorena Vazquez and Laura Fa, two Spanish journalists who are part of the well-known showbiz reporting team known as the Mamarazzis, revealed the couple’s breakup.
In a podcast a few days later, they stated that after learning that Pep had changed his mind about leaving Britain and would remain in his current position until 2027, fashion businesswoman Cristina had decided “enough was enough.”
In response to questions about the allegations, the 52-year-old, who continued to visit her husband in his adoptive city until this summer despite moving back to Barcelona in 2019 with their 17-year-old youngest daughter Valentina to concentrate on her business endeavors, glanced straight ahead and continued to walk.
She concluded the short conversation.
The pair bought an £8.4 million house in the affluent Barcelona neighborhood of Pedralbes in 2021, but Cristina seemed determined to live her life normally after the breakup, as evidenced by her first remarks regarding her feelings.
She moved into the house two years after leaving Manchester, and the acquisition was first reported by the Catalan press in June 2021 as evidence that 54-year-old Guardiola would be considering a return to Barcelona when Joan Laporta was elected as its president.
“It’s true that the first rumors about Cristina’s marriage to Pep surfaced after she returned to Barcelona from Manchester in 2019 to focus on her business interests, but no one dared talking about there being a relationship crisis and much less so a split,” Lorena Vazquez said last week after breaking the news of the split.
That was before last September, when people in Pep’s Manchester-based professional network were initially taken aback by Cristina’s absence from the city after the summer vacation and started to question why she wasn’t there with him.
Even though Cristina had stopped residing in Manchester full-time in 2019 and was primarily splitting her time between Barcelona and London, it was common to occasionally see her there until that point.
They continued to see each other, participate in family events, and act like a couple whenever they were together.
“Christina stopped showing up in Manchester last September.”
Regarding the split, colleague Laura Fa added: “She makes the decision when he chooses to extend his contract with Manchester City because Pep had been preparing his departure from the club in the preceding months.”
We are aware that leaving and relocating to the United Arab Emirates was one of his goals.

He wasn’t going to renew his contact, so many around him were starting to say farewell.
“That choice to not renew was bringing him and his wife closer, but when he chose to stay and extend his contract, Cristina decided enough was enough, and she ended the long-lasting marriage.”
According to the Sun, Guardiola had crisis talks with his 30-year spouse at his favorite Barcelona restaurant, Bodega Sepulveda, in October of last year before agreeing to the contract extension.
Things “looked a little tense between them,” according to a waitress who spoke to the newspaper.
The pair got married in 2014 after meeting in 1994.
According to Spanish media, Pep and Cristina are still friendly and care for each other and haven’t broken up over a third party.
As the first family member to speak after the shocking news of their separation, their eldest daughter, Maria, shared her parents’ love lessons.
In an interview with a Spanish magazine that came out around the same time her dad’s divorce from his 30-year wife, Cristina Serra, the attractive influencer and fashionista stated: “My parents have always advised me to find what I am passionate about.”
“They support me in taking risks, accepting failure, and persevering until I discover my purpose because then, complete dedication will come easily.”
“They also remind me that being loved and being loved is the most important thing in life.”
“In the end, it all comes down to feeling loved,” the 24-year-old beauty from London continued to say to Vanity Fair Spain.
“They tell me to listen carefully to others, even in situations where we feel out of place, because there is always something valuable to learn from each person we meet.”
