Three more players linked to potential transfers were also noted.
MARCUS RASHFORD looked upbeat as he was spotted training with Manchester United for the first time since rumors of his possible transfer surfaced.
Rashford has been connected to a January transfer, with several clubs reportedly showing interest after he indicated a desire for “a new challenge” last month.
Despite the rumors, the 27-year-old participated in Ruben Amorim’s final training session before the Europa League match against Rangers at Old Trafford on Thursday.
Reports suggest that Rashford has been undertaking additional training sessions during his nine-match absence.
This is the first instance he’s been photographed during this time.
Manchester United has experienced five losses in the nine matches that Rashford has been absent.
Exclusive reports from SunSport indicate that Rashford is willing to stay with the team and compete for his spot.
Sources close to the sidelined striker claim he is ready to face Rangers if selected.
However, Rashford’s brother and agent, Dwaine Maynard, reportedly met with Barcelona executives in Lisbon on Wednesday.
The England international has not played for the club since early December against Viktoria Plzen.
He was part of the squad for the Newcastle match on December 30 but did not see any action.
Rashford was benched by Amorim during United’s 2-1 win over Manchester City in December due to his training performances.
However, Rashford has no issues with Amorim and is dedicated to giving his best for the team.
After being excluded once more for Sunday’s 3-1 defeat to Brighton, Amorim reiterated his stance on the home-grown talent.
The manager, who labeled his team as “the worst in Manchester United’s history,” stressed: “It is his choice (not to play).
“I don’t want to focus on this challenging period because in the matches we’ve lost, Rashford has not been present.”
“I’m not blaming Rashford for this situation. He is out because he’s not performing.
“No matter what, I won’t play a player I don’t believe is the best for the team.”
The winger has also attracted interest from Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan, though Kyle Walker’s potential move to Milan is likely to reduce their interest in Rashford.
Meanwhile, Antony, who has been linked with a loan to Real Betis, trained as usual on Wednesday morning.
Similarly, Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo—who has been connected to Bayern—were also spotted training, both of whom are targets for Chelsea and Napoli.
