Manchester United have reached out to Juventus regarding the potential signing of striker Dusan Vlahovic ahead of the transfer deadline, as reported by TBR Football.
This past month has seen a flurry of departures from Manchester United. While the club recently announced its first signings under manager Ruben Amorim, including full-back Patrick Dorgu from Lecce and Ayden Heaven from Arsenal’s youth setup, the scale of outgoing players has far outstripped incoming ones.
Young talents Ethan Wheatley and Daniel Gore have both been loaned out, joining Rotherham and Walsall respectively. Winger Antony has moved to Real Betis for the remainder of the season, and after much speculation, Marcus Rashford has joined Aston Villa on loan in search of more consistent playing time.
However, it appears the Red Devils are still aiming for at least one more addition before the transfer window closes.
TBR Football reports that negotiations between Juventus and Vlahovic for a contract extension have stalled, with the £314,000-a-week striker unwilling to accept a pay cut currently being proposed. Additionally, he will now face competition from Randal Kolo Muani, who has joined Juventus on loan from Paris Saint-Germain until season’s end.
According to Graeme Bailey, Manchester United has asked to be kept updated on Vlahovic’s situation and may consider making a move for the Serbian international.
As a proven goalscorer, Vlahovic could provide much-needed support to a United frontline that has struggled throughout the season, though whether a deal can be reached remains uncertain.
