The transfer window for Manchester United has officially closed, with Tyrell Malacia returning to the Netherlands on loan.
While the deadline day wrapped up on Monday night, two deals were confirmed on Tuesday. Ruben Curley was sold to Stoke City, and Malacia’s loan to PSV was finalized late that evening.
Although he was in Eindhoven on Monday, reports from the Netherlands indicated that PSV was awaiting documents from United.
Malacia’s loan move to PSV was made official late Tuesday night, with both Malacia and the PSV Instagram account sharing a post featuring the left-back in his new kit. PSV welcomed him with the caption, “Welcome to Eindhoven, Tyrell.”
Manchester United’s captain and Malacia’s former teammate, Bruno Fernandes, commented, “My guy,” followed by a heart emoji. Another former teammate, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, showed his support with a saluting emoji and a heart.
Upon joining PSV, Malacia expressed his excitement in an interview with the club’s media. He said, “I’m glad to be here and finally playing football again. After a long injury, I am now fit and ready for my comeback.”
He reflected on his journey, stating, “In every difficult period, there are positive elements. I have become much stronger physically and mentally. I have more patience, am more mature, and know my body better. I’m ready to shine and hope to win multiple awards with PSV.”
PSV’s football director, Earnest Stewart, also praised the acquisition: “We are very happy to welcome Tyrell, a player who can provide immediate value for PSV. He has extensive experience at the highest level and offers great potential. We look forward to seeing him in action.”
