William Saliba, a defender for Arsenal, is going back to his roots by traveling to Cameroon as he heals from his injury.
Even though his mother is from Cameroon, the France international chose to play for his native nation.
He visited legendary striker Samuel Eto’o at his FECAFOOT headquarters while he was in the African nation.
The Arsenal player was also seen enjoying Yaoundé with his family while indulging in local cuisine in pictures posted on social media.
Since March, Saliba has been sidelined by injury, and it appears that his absence cost Arsenal the championship as they lost their lead in the standings.
According to Metro, the France defender will miss the remainder of the season.
However, given that Arsenal is expected to end the season in the top two spots, his performances have assured the Gunners a spot in the UEFA Champions League the following season.
When Saliba returned to London at the beginning of the season after his loan at Olympique Marseille ended, he was a totally different player.
