Behind the Gates of Dubai’s Most Controversial Zoo: Man Utd Stars’ Exotic Encounter Sparks Debate

Fame Park, the exclusive farm owned by Emirati entrepreneur Saif Ahmad Belhasa, has transformed into a playground for the wealthy and renowned. Recently, it hosted Manchester United stars Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay, who indulged in unique activities like handling pythons, feeding giraffes, and cuddling baby tigers. This lavish venue has also attracted celebrities such as Lionel Messi, Anthony Joshua, and Floyd Mayweather, all of whom have enjoyed tours led by Belhasa’s son, Rashed, known as Money Kicks.

Fame Park has come under fire for its practices, especially concerning the use of wild animals for public entertainment. McTominay, in particular, faced significant criticism after participating in a tug-of-war with a tiger, leading to condemnation from animal rights organizations like the RSPCA. These groups argue that such activities fail to foster respect for wild animals and advocate for more appropriate ways to provide enrichment for them

Fame Park is home to more than 500 animals, including lions, tigers, and giraffes, and was founded in 2001 as a private zoo. With an estimated wealth of around £4 billion, Belhasa is able to sustain this extensive collection, which includes animals named after celebrities like Paris Hilton and Ronaldo.

Rashed maintains that the family does not profit from the zoo and that the animals are well cared for; however, the ethical concerns surrounding the use of wild animals for entertainment continue to spark debate. Many fans have voiced their disapproval online, calling for a reassessment of these interactions and highlighting the importance of animal welfare.
