Manchester United loanee Antony delivered another impressive performance, scoring in Real Betis’ commanding 3-0 victory over Real Sociedad on Sunday.

The 24-year-old opened the scoring with a spectacular left-foot volley in the 51st minute of the LaLiga match. He took advantage of a situation where Sociedad’s goalkeeper, Alex Remiro, had punched the ball away after a set-piece cross from former Real Madrid star Isco.

Antony also provided an assist to Marc Roca in the 69th minute, further solidifying the 3-0 win at Estadio Benito Villamarin. This goal followed a red card given to La Real’s center back Igor Zubeldia for a last-man foul in the first half.

Reflecting on his performance, Antony expressed, “I’m really happy with the game we had today. We knew it was crucial to win, and it helps us gain confidence. The most important thing is to be happy. I’m really happy here, as I mentioned before. Scoring and helping the team is what matters, and we’ll keep pushing forward.”

Since joining on loan, Antony has thrived, netting three goals in four games for Real Betis, a stark contrast to his solitary goal in 14 matches for Manchester United earlier this season. He has also scored in recent fixtures against Celta Vigo in the league and Gent in the Conference League Last 16 playoffs.

“I’m not setting any specific goal targets. I work hard every day, staying focused and enjoying my time here,” he added.

Despite being favored to win, Real Sociedad struggled this season, sitting in 11th place in the LaLiga table. Betis had a chance to take the lead in the 33rd minute, but former Tottenham player Giovani Lo Celso’s penalty was saved, a penalty earned by Antony after he was fouled in the box.

Currently, Betis is positioned eighth in the league, just three points shy of the European qualification spots.
