While his former team was pulling off a remarkable FA Cup upset, Wayne Rooney was spotted enjoying a day at Disneyland Paris.
The Manchester United legend was accompanied by his wife, Coleen, and two of their children, making the most of their half-term break.
On a chilly day in France, the Rooneys opted for navy blue and black puffer coats to maintain a low profile. Observant parkgoers recognized Wazza, the former Everton and England striker, who bundled up with a snood to keep warm.
The family, excluding their older sons Kai, 15, and Klay, 11, posed for a photo in the park. While Wayne and Coleen smiled for what they hoped would be a lovely family portrait, their younger sons, Cass, 6, and Kit, 8, didn’t seem as enthusiastic.
Since leaving Plymouth Argyle last month, Wayne has enjoyed some free time. He parted ways with the Championship club in December after a string of poor performances left the team facing relegation. Despite a challenging season, Rooney’s former team managed to defeat Premier League leaders Liverpool in a stunning FA Cup victory.
Coleen has been enjoying having Wayne home, sharing the school run duties. “Now that Wayne is back, it’s great—we’re splitting the school run,” she shared. “Wayne will take the kids, and I can squeeze in an early gym session.”
While Wayne cherishes the time with his family, he remains open to returning to management. “I’ve had great experiences in management, both good and bad,” he told Stick to Football. “It’s always a backup plan, but I’m also focused on growing and appreciating time with my family while I have this break.”
This week, Rooney has returned to work, taking on a role covering the Manchester City vs. Real Madrid Champions League match for Amazon Prime, as broadcasters vie for his attention.
