3 key passes, 1 brilliant assist, 1 red card: Man Utd Loanee Shines with Assist Before Heartbreaking Last-Minute Red Card

Manchester United loanee Antony delivered a brilliant assist for Real Betis’ opening goal in their 2-1 victory over Getafe on Sunday at Estadio Coliseum.

Since joining Betis in the January transfer window, Antony has been in excellent form, scoring three goals, two of which came in La Liga. He has also contributed two assists, with his latest being a stunning run down the pitch, where he shrugged off several challenges before expertly setting up Isco.

The former Real Madrid star made no mistake, firing the ball home to give Betis an early lead.

Unfortunately, Antony’s match ended prematurely—not due to substitution, but because he received a red card in the final moments for a challenge on Juan Iglesias. This means he will miss Betis’ upcoming match against Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid, a significant loss for both the team and the player.

During his time on the field against Getafe, Antony touched the ball 71 times and completed 33 of 45 passes, including three key passes. He attempted four long balls, connecting successfully each time, and created one major chance that led to the opening goal.

Antony managed one shot, which was saved by Getafe goalkeeper David Soria. He won five of 14 ground duels and one of four aerial challenges, along with making three interceptions and as many tackles.

Isco added a second goal from the penalty spot in the 77th minute, solidifying Betis’ win and rendering Borja Mayoral’s strike just five minutes later inconsequential.

Meanwhile, Manchester United will return to action on Wednesday, facing Ipswich Town at Old Trafford.
