Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana had another rough outing despite the team’s 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town.

The Cameroonian international was largely responsible for both goals conceded, sharing some blame with Patrick Dorgu for the first. However, his mistake on the second Ipswich goal was particularly egregious, resulting in a dismal 4/10 rating from the Manchester Evening News.

This isn’t the first time Onana has disappointed the club, and with new manager Ruben Amorim at the helm, there’s a strong likelihood he will seek to make a change in goal soon. The Manchester Evening News previously reported that Amorim was already interested in acquiring a new goalkeeper to compete with Onana for next season. Given the circumstances, he might now be leaning toward finding a full replacement.

While United managed to secure a win against a struggling Ipswich side, Onana’s errors nearly turned it into a disastrous night for the team. The 28-year-old’s reliability as the first-choice goalkeeper for such an ambitious club is increasingly in doubt, and Amorim likely reached that conclusion quickly.

Onana was brought in by former manager Erik ten Hag, who has faced criticism for several underperforming signings, including Antony, Mason Mount, Rasmus Hojlund, and Joshua Zirkzee. Amorim would be wise to consider offloading these players if possible.

For now, United will need to navigate the remainder of the season with Onana as their primary goalkeeper, presenting a significant challenge for Amorim until he can implement necessary changes.
