“Everything was just aligning in a way where it was so surreal to me, because I’m like, ‘How have I never met any of these people before?'”
Since their reunion with new singer Emily Armstrong, Linkin Park has accomplished a lot. While finding time to tour, they published the highly acclaimed album “From Zero,” and it appears that they are in the process of recording another.
Armstrong told Q101 that “kismet” (or fate) led her to Linkin Park and that she and the band members had a lot of odd connections they were unaware of (transcribed by Ultimate Guitar):
“There were a lot of things that were like, ‘Wait, you worked with this guy?’ I’m not sure whether this makes sense. That’s what we accomplished with our debut record. Literally, a lot of things began to come together, and now it’s just kismet, or the synergy.”
Armstrong went on to describe how odd everything seemed to her due to the events’ apparent coincidence:
“Everything was just aligning in a way where it was so surreal to me, because I’m like, ‘How have I never met any of these people before?’ and then all of a sudden [I’m] at this point where everything starts to really make sense – where we are in our lives, as people in their band and me as an artist and in my band, how it really came together at a time where we both were looking for this.”
“We discovered so many things in common that it simply began to unite us. “Okay, this is it,” it said.
