Carlo Ancelotti has been formally named the next coach of the Brazil national team by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF).
As “the greatest coach in history,” CBF president Ednaldo Rodrigues praised Ancelotti and said he is confident he can guide Brazil back to the top of the world football rankings.
On May 26, 2025, following Real Madrid’s last league match against Real Sociedad, Ancelotti is anticipated to travel to Brazil.
He will captain Brazil till the 2026 World Cup and lead the team in the forthcoming World Cup qualifying matches against Ecuador and Paraguay next month.
Rodrigues emphasized the CBF’s resolve to write new, magnificent chapters in Brazilian football with the Italian coach at the helm, saying that Ancelotti’s appointment is more than just a calculated move.
