Jude Bellingham’s recent visit to Hotspur Way has prompted Ange Postecoglou to ‘shut the doors’. The Three Lions landed at Hotspur Way to continue their preparations for a pivotal European qualifier against Italy after England defeated Australia 1-0 on Friday night.
In what is anticipated to be a hotly contested match, Gareth Southgate’s team will host the defending champions at Wembley on Tuesday night. England is three points clear of Italy, who are in second place in Group C, going into the match.
To save on travel, the Three Lions established their base in north London rather than going back to St George’s Park in Burton upon Trent. Bellingham was surrounded by numerous Tottenham academy kids who were in awe of the Real Madrid player while they were at Hotspur Way.
Taking a few moments out of his day, the 20-year-old midfielder spoke with the kids and posed for a photo. The set of photos was shared on Instagram by Spurs and England, with the message, “So much love for @judebellingham [blue heart emoji].”
It should come as no surprise that hundreds of ecstatic Tottenham supporters poured some amazing propaganda into the comment section, asking Bellingham to support Ange Postecoglou. “What a player [two clapping emojis] if there is one day he’s coming to PL, could he come to Spurs [white heart emoji]?” commented a user going by the name @Angela_somova1205.
“Bellingham to Spurs here we go [handshake and laughing emojis],” @4brbible, wrote. In the meantime, Posted by @kelvin.jse: “lock the doors!!!”
@akram.afif.goat posted, “Bellingham to Spurs confirmed,” and their comment received over 350 likes. It appears that the Real Madrid player has been keeping a close eye on Tottenham this season. When Spurs defeated Bournemouth 2-0 at the end of August, he was quick to commend James Maddison for his performance on the south coast.
After defeating Manchester United the previous weekend, Postecoglou’s team won 2-0 for the second time in a row thanks to goals from Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski each side of halftime. Since then, Tottenham has improved steadily and risen to the top of the Premier League standings.
